A practical guide to handling delayed cigar inventory without capturing too early or creating unclear customer remedies.

Prepare a travel merchant account application that explains when customers pay, when they travel and who is responsible for delivering the booking. Future-delivery exposure is central to the payment discussion.
Discuss your business
Distinguish the tour operator, travel agent, accommodation provider and booking marketplace. Explain whether the business is principal or agent, who contracts with the traveller and who receives the funds. Supply representative supplier agreements and customer terms, including the treatment of amendments and cancellations.
Break down lead times, deposits, balance payments and seasonal peaks. Show how much prepaid travel remains undelivered at a given time. Explain supplier payment schedules and how refunds are funded when a supplier cancels or fails. Gross monthly sales alone do not describe this exposure.
Identify any applicable travel-protection arrangements and their scope. For UK air-travel sales, CAA guidance explains which activities require an ATOL or another permitted basis; this is not a universal rule for every travel business. Document how customers receive booking confirmations and obtain support. Settlement terms should be discussed against the actual delivery profile.
Payment may occur long before the service is delivered. Underwriting needs to understand the outstanding service obligations and the resources available for refunds.
Not necessarily. Delivery lead times, supplier arrangements, seasonality and operating history can change the assessed exposure.
